1940: use of 50c Peace due to shortage during the break-up

The Second World War began on September 1, 1939. In this troubled period, the postage stamp printing office moved from Boulevard Paris Brune in Paris to Limoges in the former Haviland porcelain factory.
 

The printing ends in Paris on September 4, 1939, it resumes in Limoges on September 19 until August 24, 1940 The resumption of printing in Paris will take place on September 17, 1940.

 

The demand for domestic and foreign tariffs being very strong is almost always in multiples of 0.50F, stocks of 0.50F Peace red have been supplied to post offices to supplement the 1F Iris
